the series “sepia” feature a dynamic interplay of textures that evoke the mystical and symbolic language of traditional iconography, while also incorporating abstract elements. at the center of the painting, there no figure, no traditional icon of a saint, the focus is on the dynamic textures on the background: elements inspired by the ancient iconography, restoration of ancient iconography, that hint at the (fictional) history and spiritual significance of the image.
